Sherlyn's 16th Birthday Parties + Holidays / Sunday, September 24, 2006
The official date of Sherlyn's birthday is the 18th of September, but we seemed to have so many parties. (I know this is a late post, but hey, better late than never. Please take notice, this is LAST holidays)
MONDAY
Monday was the last day of stand down and none of us had any exams left, so we crashed her house for an azn bake day (where we did no baking at all!). We had spring rolls from her deep fryer (her very own MacDonalds!) and we were trying to make sushi (as if we hadn't learnt from our last sushi adventure) but sushi just doesn't seem to work for us. We ended up rolling rice and adding seasoning. Still tasted awesome though!
It was also Stephen Chou movie day, and we watched Sixty Million Dollar Man. I love Stephen Chou's older films, classical him. And we watched Undercover Brother. Not something I would usually watch but really funny (if not a little strange but what isn't nowadays).
We had a mini contest of who could throw random tennis balls over the huge wall next to Sherlyn's tennis court, and a mini competition of a game of ball throwing that Liv made up on the spot. Not even she knew what the point of it was so after a while we went back inside to play Hide The Penis. Really, we come up with all these strange games. Hide The Penis is essentially someone draws a penis on a piece of paper, and someone else has to really quickly draw it into something else so it doesn't look like a penis. The person who can't is either the most uncreative or the most dirty-minded because they can't see it as anything else but a penis. Seems I was both because I couldn't do it, heh... Before the party disassembled we had a game of I Never, which was some people sitting on the floor or at a table with 10 fingers down. Someone starts the game by saying for example "
I never have been bungee jumping" and whoever has been takes a finger away and you lose when all your fingers are out of the game. In other words, it's a game to see who's the most boring person :P
THURSDAYLast day of school, at morning tea we all brough some food and shared it around. Then at lunchtime we showed her the secret movie we made.
FRIDAYYet ANOTHER birthday party! This time, it was ice-skating at Acacia Ridge (that's almost an hour by bus). Even Bob came!!! Ice-skating was rather fun, but the rink was strangely not cold, and since we were the first ones in the session, the ice completely smooth. I stacked it about 5 times in the first 5 minutes! Now i've got bruises and grazes all over my arms and knees. Most of us were over skating in about an hour, so we spent heaps of time taking photos.
Afterwards we went back to her place and burnt her art. Olivia and Sherlyn have the same art teacher that they both equally hate especially because she's racist against us azns X( And she didn't like her art so we burnt the whole damn lot in her tennis court. Bob had to go, then we watched another movie and Chris and I went home, and everyone else slept over.
SundayIt was Charlene's birthday party this time at K. It wasn't that fun because most of the people there I didn't know so I mostly just sat and watched. Afterwards they went to play pool, and Liv and I walked around the empty car park. We found a park nearby and stuffed around for a little bit, but it was a little creepy because of all the trees around and it was really dark. We found two shopping trolleys at the top of the car park, I jumped in one of them and Liv pushed me to the other end. Then I got off and tried to get Liv in the other one but she wouldn't so I jumped in again. But this time halfway across the lot she let go and the whole trolley nearly flipped when it hit the edge of the pavement. Crazy child.
MondayWe had another bake day (this time we actually baked) at Olivia's house with us two and Chris. We bought the ingredients at Woolworths plus that Sara Lee cake mix I think it was, and made lunch and dessert ^__^ The pasta was delicious, but I'm still not quite sure why we bought a pizza base, since all we did was put cheese on it, and it turned out really bad too. But the cake was super yummy!!! @^_^@
WednesdayI met Eric and we strolled around the city and Botanical Gardens, chatted and caught up. It's really nice spending time with people you don't see often and just laze the day away. We had pancakes *drool* and ice cream!!
ThursdayWent over to Chris' house to update myself on some Naruto and Bleach. And we made pancakes!! They didn't turn out 100% ^^"....but we ate them anyway XD
SaturdayI had Chinese school and guzheng again, and I went home myself this time, stopping by the city and played some DDR with Pasky. When I got home I realised...I forgot my key. I sat outside my house for about half an hour, and my mum wouldn't pick up her phone. Left with no choice, I ran Ann, who lived in the suburb next to me, but she wasn't home, so I rang Sherlyn who lived in another suburb next to me. Luckily, she was home so I walked the 25mins to her house. I love free-loading at her house because it's so rich XDXD We ate, bummed around on the computer, I did her Chinese school homework for her but it wasn't hard and I was free-loading after all XP and we watched another Stephen Chou movie. It was around 9 when I was certain my mum had forgotten I existed and was ready to go to sleep at Sherlyn's place that my mum rang back. Of all days, she had forgotten her phone that day X_X
SundayAnother bake day!! (we're all going to be fat -.-) At my house this time. Using real ingredients instead of a baking mix. We downloaded a recipe for sponge cake off the internet and went out shopping. It was pretty fun making the cake, and it went all nicely until we got to the bit when it said hand-mix, but it wouldn't mix properly so we used the electrical mixer again. BIG MISTAKE The whole mixture flopped back down, no matter how hard we tried to save it. And then another crisis, my oven wouldn't work!! So we had to drive over to Olivia's house to use her oven. But it turned out yummy anyway ^_^
Monday+TuesdayJust worked. They put me on a long shift pricing stock. It was my first long shift, so I didn't know when to break. I was hungry, but everyone was still working...so I kept on working too ^^ It was almost the end of my shift when they let me out for lunch break.
WednesdayChris and I met Pasky in the city and we bummed around for a bit, taking passport photos for Chris. They turned out really scary T_T And we annoyed a shop owner of a hat store by trying on all these hats and taking photos but not buying anything XP
ThursdayHabourtown ahoy! Chris, Weldon, Olivia and I went to Habourtown to go shopping. I didn't end up buying anything, but it was fun all the same ^_^
SundayThere was an IT conference in QUT (a university) and Olivia, Sherlyn and I were part of it. The teachers made us think it was really big, but it was only a small meeting. We ran out of time, so we didn't get to say all that we needed to. But we all got free bags and pens!!!
MondayAnd term IV begins T_T

Went to Justin's place in the city last Tuesday after work. He shares this neat little apartment with Sanha in the city, right next to the arcade, convenient :P Got invited to dinner with Roy since Sanha was at work.
Although he had worked as a cook in a restaurant before, he doesn't seem to be very practical around a normal kitchen. Dinner was pretty awesome with rice, chicken, more chicken, lots of eggs, more eggs, and tuna. And orange juice. He had gone out especially to buy more food for the three of us, but the way he prepared the food was definitely laughable, but 100% for effort *thumbs up*
He bought teriyaki sauce to cook the chicken in, not knowing it was meant to be marianated. The tuna was simple canned tuna. Just a can of opened tuna, sitting on the dining table... Roy and I, we looked at it, looked at our rice, looked at Justin just eat the tuna out from the can, sighed, and avoided it XD There were a LOT of eggs, and a puzzled Roy asked Justin "Are these meant to be half-cooked half-raw pile of eggs all dropped together on the plate or were you trying to be design something?" XDXD ...The rice tasted good... hahahah nah, everything somehow tasted good :)
Watched a bit of some Japanese drama, then went home.

Last Monday was me and Pascal's Twin Domo-kun Kitty Day!!! We both got the same shirt from Supanova, and decided we would go out on the same day with the same shirt. But alas, we don't see each other a lot anymore so Domo-kun Day had to wait awhile. Last stand down we decided on Domo-kun Day. but the night before he had said he was sick, so we had to push it again. But in the morning halfway through my English exam he texted me saying he was well again!!! Haha I had to ask my mum to bring the shirt, forgetting yet again his bag and present.
Domo-kun Day went alright, since Pasky was still feeling sick. We went to Replt and pool, Replay since the DDR machine at Tops was broken.
Pasky such a cute little kitty!!!!! *mmeeeeeooooww*

6 Month Anniversary / Sunday, September 03, 2006
Wow, can hardly believe it's been half a year already. Meeting once a week doesn't help with the time perception either. Someone asked if we've argued - how could we? Couples only really start to argue if they see each other more than three times per week. Funny/Strange thing is I don't really associate us together, still. I guess matters weren't settled when we got together. Girl schools can be very bitchy if there are rumours about you. People think I'm a slut, that I stole Alison's boyfriend, that I was desperate enough to go for leftovers, etc. I shut it out because it's bullshit, but am I really? I don't want to feel embarrassed that he's my boyfriend...in fact I sort of feel embarrassed that I HAVE a boyfriend at all. And I feel really strange why I'm telling you all, but I'd prefer to have it down somewhere, in nice paragraphs instead of a vortex inside my head, exams are coming up and my head is getting rather crowded.SATAnyway, onto the main point of this post. Chinese school exam in the morning, what a drag. And it was really hard too, different from my other classes. I think I screwed it up a bit but oh well, as long as I'm not kept down next year. Guzheng was alright. Spent some time at Chris' house, ate, played some StepMania. He gave me a pack of cards shaped of hearts as a present!! *hearts* Now I have 45 packets of cards!! Then we went to GC and watched You, Me and Dupree. It's actually a pretty good film. I would recommend it as a comedy relief.
Then off we trot to the Valley, and the Garuva restaurant turned out to be close to the Red Cross shop my mum works at sometimes. It was RiverFire and so traffic-jam and cops everywhere, he had to drive slow so his blow-off valve didn't go off. The restaurant, which he said was really highly recommended....was really dodgy (((^O^))) (<-- just in case you don't see, it's laughing XP)
I think the restaurant was actually 18+ because it had a bar and all, but we looked 18+ that night anyway. Chris looked soooooooo hot that night; black suit pants, white collar shirt, black tie, black earring (magnetic and on the left) (yes it's mine, I made him wear it) (last week he wore it home last week and his mum called him a homo! Poor Maiki got slapped). He looked so gangster! And so cute-boy at the same time. Just really really really hot!! XD Anyway, the place only opened at night, and would have been really hard to find if not for the green lights at the entrance, and other people standing outside.
As you were walking from the front door to the reception, it was a really narrow corridor with fake plants and water fountains and fluoro green lights which all contributed to be really dodgy looking XP We got in a little earlier than he booked, and we went inside to the resaturant... The website (www.garuva.com.au) says "New patrons are coming through the doors every night and there is not even a sign outside. It is certainly hidden and 99 percent of the time very tranquil. The atmosphere is very private and especially intimate for couples." Nope, no sign, very hidden indeed, and the 99 percent of the time very tranquil would be between 3am-5pm when the restaurant was closed. Because the main restaurant was basically a huuuge room, people were sitting in rectangles on rugs/cushions on the floor, and that section was boxed off with "sheer curtains". It was even louder than during lunch at yum-cha! Yep, atmosphere was private and especially intimate for couples - if we yelled quietly we could just hear each other, other that or lean across the table into the food, and if we looked to our left through the 'sheer curtains' were some other people. Haha it was fun just paying it out.
But the food was really really good. Chris won't tell me but I would imagine it was pretty expensive. First came some really good bread+dip, called 'baba-ganoosh' or something. Sounds weird but tastes sooo good. Haha we wanted to get a little container and scoop the rest of the sauce to take home XD We're just too azn =P Karaage, Singaporean vegetables and rice. I got a stomachache, probably from the tap water, but it was sooooo goooood. Had dessert at home - Liv and I made a cheesecake!
FRI
She came over in the afternoon to make it. We got home later than expected because we had to wait for Sherlyn to get picked up. Her mum forgot to pick her up AGAIN so I kept on calling until her brother finally came to take her home. Then Liv and I walked to the city to buy some fresh supplies, then took the train home. There was this dress (hush!) I wanted to wear, but it was too dressy :( So I ended up wearing pants. Mum had used the blender for garlic and I didn't want the base to taste of ginger and garlic so Liv had to crush all 250g of cookies by hand. I scurried around trying to do everything else. I called Chris so we were making up all these lame excuses for what we were doing XP
"What's Liv doing?"
"err....crushing..cardboard!"
After we were done with the cake, we were both exhausted. While waiting for her brother to pick her up, we both fell asleep in my living room.
SUN
I came half an hour late again, and I think he was sort of pissed. We had brunch at sushi, Tea Bar and Maccas. Clothes are pretty expensive now. There's this shirt/coat/thingy I wanna get in Cotton On but it's $50 :( It's not I don't have money, I just don't want to spend it. Last week Harvey was there too with Kim and Yuki, and they went shopping. Sometimes shopping with guys are more fun, coz you get to look at more stuff, instead of spending half a day in one shop, 2-20 minutes in lots of shops. Last week Saturday BAC had a school play. The school had spent so much time and money on it! It was really really good. Harvey looked so cute in glasses. Bob had stagefright, so was pretty out of it. Beforehand, Chris also had to drive his friend, ehh...forgot her name, to the play. We went to Maccas to eat. There, she asked me "do you know Alison?" I choked. He immediately said "can you please not talk about it?" It will always be a subject we tiptoe around. AnYwAY... The play ended later than I thought it would, and my mum ordered me home, so I didn't have time to say bye to everyone, and so I made James hug Bob XD
We had got bracelets for our anniversary and had it engraved, but it was too big so we went to remove some of the links. The engraving looks so nice! But really expensive.... I didn't really want to get it... I think choosing is more fun than buying. Bracelet = $79.99, but a 20% sale off at that time to $62, and $22ish for engravings, but he paid for that. Personally it's a little daunting to wear that, it's like wearing an identification tag, or a handcuff, albeit a nice looking one. But I don't really regret getting it though. (Why am I always so negative?)
We had sticker photos taken at Area 58. The sticker photos taken at Perth were really dodgy and came off on the clear plastic of my wallet (soz Del, but I can't use them now) I don't want to put them in my wallet just in case the same thing happens so I think I'll just photocopy them at school. Thank god for colour printers!!!

Funny how time can seem so slow, but when you're not looking (or rather when you look at the calendar) it has sped by so fast? It's nearly been a year since Taiwan. It's been a term since Perth. It's been half a year since Chris.Pleasure and pain comes together. That's why we treasure those memories which made of just happiness. Because it helps us forget the not-so-happy part of it, or justify at least. A student who got dux had to study hard, an athlete who got gold had to train hard. And there are those bitter-sweet memories, that taste not of victory, nor of loss, but the victory of loss. For every time we smile, there is a time we cry. For every time we laugh, there is a time we scream. For every time you were happy, do you remember the times you were unhappy, angry, scared? Do you remember a time when you were so happy you wanted to cry, or so sad you wanted to laugh? Have you ever wished someone well when you were shattering inside? Have you ever wished someone well when you're mind was boiling with red? Happy memories make us smile, sad memories make us frown; very happy memories make us laugh, very sad memories make us cry. And then we forget, and that is sadder than the memories itself. The mist of time will overtake our memories, that is why we are happy to remember.Laugh during the day, cry during the night. Laugh with friends, cry alone; laugh alone, cry with friends? Laugh together, cry together; laugh alone, cry alone? Who knows past your mask but yourself, and sometimes you don't even know youself. The barrier we put up to keep out the pain also keeps out the joy, but which is more worth it? They do not know, every time they turn, they cut you another time. No matter how fast you try patch it up, their backs stay turned. You sometimes wonder why you're still at their back, why you still catch them when they fall, when they never know when you stumble. But that is alright. Who are we to decide who we will love? they say. Can we not? Can we make ourselves love someone? Can we make ourselves un-love, or hate someone? Who knows? Not I.Who knows I laugh the day and cry the night? Why? Even I do not know... But you are here? That is alright then...~keii~
